Export License
Requirements for obtaining Fish Export License
- Introduction letter from Local Government Authority,
- Collection license from where the product is collected,
- Business license from Ministry of Trade and Industry issued under Business Licensing
Act,
- TIN-Tax Identification Number,
- Business Tax Clearance Certificate,
- Exporter application letter,
- Filled form (3c)-Application for Export License for Fish and Fishery products,
- For the Limited Company Attach Memorandum of Understanding/Articles of associations
and Certificate of Incorporation,
- For an Individual (Sole proprietor) attach Certificate of Registration and Extract
from Register from BRELA,
- Copy of Birth certificate or Passport for all shareholders/proprietors,
A non-citizen shall, on applying for export License
attach;
- Certificate of Incentives issued by the Authority responsible for investments,
- A proof on the value of physical investment relevant to fisheries activities,
Certificate of Incorporation,
- Articles of Associations,
- Feasibility Study,
- Project Write Up,
- Work Permit,
- Environmental impact assessment report issued by the Competent Authority responsible
for environment,
NOTE
Any company which intends to order export fish and fishery product contrary to these
requirements will not be granted an Import /export permit and not allowed to enter in
the country or will be liable to rejection.
Fish Import License
Requirements for obtaining Fish Import license, the
applicant shall submit the following:
- Introduction letter from Local Government Authority area where there is fish cold
storage,
- Business license from Ministry of Trade and Industry issued under Business Licensing
Act,
- Copy of Birth certificate or Passport for all shareholders/proprietors,
- TIN-Tax Identification Number,
- Business Tax Clearance Certificate,
- Importer Application Letter,
- Filled form (3a)-Application for a License for Fishing or dealing in fish or fishery
products,
- For the Limited Company Attach Memorandum of Understanding/Articles of associations
and Certificate of Incorporation; (Company Status document)
- For an Individual Attach Certificate of Registration and Extract from Register from
BRELA (Company Status document).
A non-citizen shall, on applying for import License
attach;
- Certificate of Incentives issued by the Authority responsible for investments,

Sport Fishing Vessel License

License

- Seaworthiness Certificate from TASAC,

Prawns Fish Fishing Vessel License
Requirements for obtaining Prawns Fish Fishing
License
- Introduction letter from Local Government Authority,
- Copy of Birth certificate or Passport and Work permit for applicant who are
non-citizen applying for prawns fishing license,
- Applicant application letter,
- Seaworthiness Certificate from TASAC,
- Filled form (2a) Application for a prawns fish fishing license,
- Filled form (3a)-Application for a License for Fishing or dealing in fish or fishery
products.
Export Permit
Fish export permit means an official document issued by an
authorized officer to a fish exporter or any other person to allow him move fish or
fishery products
Requirements for obtaining Fish Export permit, the
applicant shall submit the following;
- Valid fish Export licenses,
- Invoice per consignment
Import Permit
Fish import permit means an official document issued by an
authorized officer to a fish exporter or any other person to allow him move fish or
fishery products
Requirements for obtaining Fish Import permit, the
applicant shall submit the following;
- Purchase Invoice,
- Health/Sanitary certificate,
- Quality Certificate,
- Approved Establishment,
- Valid Business Licence,
- Valid Fish import Licenses
Fish Movement Permit
Fish movement permit means an official document issued by an
authorized officer which allows a fish dealer to move fish or fishery products from one
district to another
Requirements for obtaining Fish Movement permit, the
applicant shall submit the following;
Aquaculture Permit
Requirements for obtaining Aquaculture Movement permit,
the applicant shall submit the following;
- Attach Articles and Memorandum of Association,
- Indicate names of all partners and principal contact,
- For Tanzanians, attach copy of national identity card,
- For non-Tanzanians, attach copy of residence permit, work permit and investment
permit from relevant authorities.
Fishing Gear Permit
Requirements for obtaining Fishing Gear permit, the
applicant shall submit the following;
- Business License,
- Tax Clearance Certificates,
- Certificate of Registration,
- Last import inspection report.
Health Sanitary
THE FISHERIES ACT, 2003. (The Fisheries Regulations 2005).
(Regulation 58(3). SANITARY CERTIFICATE COVERING FISH AND FISHERY PRODUCTS. Country of
dispatch
Means of Transport
- Any person who intends to transport fresh fish or fishery products shall make an
application to the Director for a certificate of transportation in a prescribed form
set out in the First Schedule to these Regulations.
- The details of the application shall include:
- the full name, physical and postal addresses of the transport company and
managers;
- the means of transport intended to be deployed, licence information,
registration number and other relevant information;
- the transport capacity;
- the refrigeration and insulation capacity;
- the cleaning and sanitation program; and
- name and physical address of the source of ice to be used.
- The competent authority shall examine the application and its accompanying documents
before proceeding to a thorough inspection of the transport vehicle or vessel, its
refrigeration and insulation systems in accordance with reference standard QA/RS/09
set out in the Sixth Schedule to these Regulations.,
- The transport vehicle or vessel which conforms to the relevant requirements shall be
issued with an Approval Certificate (APP) prescribed in a certificate coded
QA/APP/06 set out in the Fifth Schedule to these Regulations and shall be included
in a list of certified transport vehicles and vessels authorized to handle and
transport fish and fishery products..
Establishment Certificate
Requirements for obtaining Establishment, the applicant
shall submit the following;
- Plant layout,
- Business Registration Certificate,
- Business Licenses,
- Tax Clearance Certificates,
- Memorandum and Article of Association,
- Business Plan,
- Proof of Citizenship,
- Work Permit for Non Tanzanian,
Sample Analysis Certificate
These Regulations may be cited as the Fisheries
(Laboratory Fees) (Amendment) Regulations, 2022 and shall be
read as one with the Fisheries (Laboratory Fees) Regulations, hereinafter referred to as
the “principal Regulations” and shall come into effect on the 1st day of July, 2022.
